Install the appropriate repo

Once again, we are going to use a repository, so that we are sure that our add-ons are always up to date.

First of all, download the repository zip file, from here. It is called something like repository.beta.emby.kodi followed by a number (version number), if multiple files, always choose the highest number.

Browse to System > Settings > Add-ons screen :

kodi add-ons

Select install from zip file and browse to the file you have downloaded before :

emby repo install

Wait for notification of install in bottom right corner :

Install Spotify add-on for Kodi

Now that the new Kodi Beta Emby repository is installed, you can installed the Spotify add-on for Kodi.

Browse to Install from repository and select the Kodi Beta Emby repository :

kodi emby beta repo

Browse to Music Add-on and Select Spotify :

install spotify kodi

Confirm install :

confirm install spotify kodi

Wait for the notification :

kodi spotify done

Configure the add-on, by hitting the “c” (like configure) key on your keyboard : configure spotify kodi

and enter your Spotify credentials (you’ll need a Spotify premium for this to work) :

RPi / Raspberry user workaround

  • Install the spotify client on a pc with a browser
  • Open the spotify client and accept the authentication request in the browser.
  • Navigate to kodi and copy the cache file to the same location on your pi
