Streaming on Kodi : iStream vs Genesis

It has been a long time without posting. Today, I am back, and I hope I’ll be able to keep this website updated. Lately, I have totally changed my way of watching media. For years, I used to get my media from newsgroups and store them and my custom built NAS. Since I discovered streaming plugins, I no longer store media, so that I can focus on backing up my data from my several computers to the NAS.

A few days ago, I was wrting about my favorite Android remote for###kodi. Today, I present you Kore – the official Kodi remote. Let’s say it right now. Kore is pretty new, and works well. However, I find that so far it is not as good as Yatse. How to Install Kodi in Windows

During this short video, I’ll show you #how to install #kodi (formerly know as #xbmc). It is a simple 2 steps process : downloading the software ; installing it. First, fire up your favorite browser and naivgate to kodi.tv, click on the Downloads link and select the Windows version. Wait for download to finish. Then, run the installer and just click “Next” until the installation is complete.

When morons steal IStream's code

Today, while setting up my Twitter account, I learned about a new #kodi Add-on called istream from Xunitytalk. I will probably write about soon, when I have played with it long enough. However what I also learned today was far more troublesome. Some people, stole the great work from #IStream in order to make a new plugin from it. I don’t want to give them any credit, but I feel obliged to name them : AAA Stream.

Kodi Genesis : stream TV shows and movies

Enable Expert Settings

Quick #tip of the day. How to enable Expert Settings in #XBMC / #Kodi Navigate to System > Settings. From here notice the Basic settings button in the bottom left corner. Navigate to it (yes, you can!) and just press your Return keyboard’s key. You’ll see that the button now reads Expert settings. Job’s done!

Automatically download subtitles

#XBMC / #Kodi has a great feature : it can automatically download #subtitles for you. This is a pretty easy thing to set up. Let’s do it together now. First method to automatically download subtitles The recent builds of Kodi allow you to directly manage this feature natively. This first method is the preferred one. However, it will only work in recent builds of Kodi. By recent, I mean around the name change from XBMC to Kodi.
